WHAT IS A ALLY?
"You can only really understand what an ally is if you know what a 'friend' and a 'colleague' are. A friend is the shoulder you lean on when times get tough — the people involved in your life. Colleagues are the ones you greet every day and chat with about nothing important. They don’t share any real bond with you, and they’re not people you can count on. Allies, on the other hand, don’t wait for you to ask for help. They already keep you in mind. They’re the ones committed to you, rooting for your success, and actively working to help you get there. So, the clearer we are about these three categories, the more fairness and gratitude we’ll show to our allies."
